Extending Search to allow searching non-zendesk controlled areas?

Hi guys, this is my first time even looking at ZD. I was wondering if there was a way to extend or tap into some method/way to allow the search functionality in ZD to search our main site or even pull results from google and add them to the results?

we presently host a lot of documentation on a non-zendesk site and it isn't feasible or desirable to convert that into ZD content, however we want users searching our zendesk knowledge base to also see search results from our other site. any ideas...

    Any news from ZD?

This would be a nice feature indeed. We're in the process of writing our product documentation, and the forum format is kind of weird for a product documentation.

    Hello all,

Sorry for the delay here. It is This is not currently doable using our search. Other customers with this need have been able to use an external system to search Zendesk using our REST API. If you are curious about using the REST API then you can find out more information here:

Is there anything in the works in the area of expanding the capabilities of search from the help center to other sites?

Our publications are on a site that has far greater capabilities and I would like search to incorporate these for a better customer experience.

@Brian - At this time, You would have to incorporate another search solution in the Help Center like SwiftType or Angolia so you could pull search results from another site.  Other than that you would have to use the API and build a search.
