I don't want to but I want to know I can if I need to export my data for what ever reason. Is it possible through the API?

@Mike @Mark Your best bet for exporting the full data of a ticket is to query the data using the REST API. For more information please check out our API documentation:

How can i export all my ticket data (open and closed) - without use of the API ?

    @Don

I don't see how you could achieve this without using the API.

If you're on the Plus+ or Enterprise plans, you can export ticket data from Manage → Reporting → Export.

Justin, thanks for the answer, but it doesn't seem to work. I can't find "Export".

    Hi Frankie,

We recently changed access to exports to make the data in your Zendesk more secure. Exporting ticket data is not enabled by default but if you have a Plus or Enterprise account, you can email support@zendesk.com to have it enabled.

See this article for more information: https://support.zendesk.com/entries/23002207-Exporting-data-to-a-CSV-or-XML-file-Plus-and-Enterprise-

    Hope that helps!

I have Full XML Export and it sends a file but it is not openable/usable.

    Hi John,

If nothing happens when you attempt to open the XML file, it's likely because you don't have an application installed to view/edit such file types. Please install a compatible application and give it another try.

If you can open the file but cannot make sense of its content, please lend a few more details on the issue and we'll check it out.

Hi! using the API I would be able to export the ticket information even though I don't have a Plus account?

    HI Raffaello!

I left you some information on this over here: https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203657606-Continuous-improvements-to-new-Zendesk

Let us know if you have any other questions!

How can teams on the starter plan export out their data as an XML file?

  • 0

    Hi Sid,

XML exports are only available to Plus and higher plans. You can use the API if you have some coding experience to pull data though.

Hi, if i just want the comments and the dates and users, which API do I use? I am a bit confused as there are so many API options. REST api perhaps?

    Hi Tiffani!

The REST API is what you'll want to use. There are a number of categories that pertain the the different parts of tickets that can be a part of an API call. You can check that out here: https://developer.zendesk.com/rest_api/docs/core/introduction

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Hi,

Is it possible to change the format of the csv file ?

It would be better to have a semi-colon instead of a coma ?

  • 0

Ivan, then the file would no longer be a "comma separated values" file :)

Can you explain the use case for this as I though all strings were enclosed in quotes so a rogue comma should not be an issue.

Hi, I have a basic plan, need to export data, and I am not familiar with the API, can anybody help?

  • 0

    Hi Jose!

What's available is going to vary depending on what you're trying to export. Can you be more specific about what you're trying to do?

  • 1

    Hey Ivan,

I had the desire for semicolon as separator too. Seems to be the standard for many people and industries, especially those who work with non-US MS Excel.

That and some other issues I had (like malformed UTF-8 characters and missing fields) resulted in a free app I made, that gives you more options than the native Zendesk export.

You can find it in the marketplace by the name of 'Ticket Exporter'. Here's the public listing:
    https://www.zendesk.com/apps/ticket-exporter/

I hope that suits your needs!

    With kind regards,

    Sebastiaan
