Welcome, and thank you all so much for taking the time to try out something very new and exciting in Zendesk.
What are Apps in Zendesk?
Today we have many integrations, almost 100 now. These integrations have lots of different types, ranging from Widgets on a page to API integration in the background. All of these integrations are spread out all over the place in Zendesk - with different install paths, no standards interface or user experience.
We want to make it really easy to find the integrations from Zendesk you want, and easily add them into your account from one place rather than having to hunt through Zendesk for them.
Lastly, we want to make it easier for absolutely anyone to develop and distribute an integration with Zendesk. If you build something cool and want to share it, we want to give you a platform to do so.
How do I gain access?
All non-trial accounts have access to Apps. You'll need to do this through our new agent interface, known as "Lotus". You can get to this by going to your account, logging in, and going to "Try Lotus" in the top right hand corner.
Once in the new agent interface, navigate to Manage (the Cog in the lower left) and then you should see "Browse" in the left menu.
Will Apps be available in the "Classic" interface of Zendesk?
No, we have no plans to do this. Apps are a new concept in Zendesk, sat on top of a different framework, which in turn is used by a completely new agent interface.
Are there any known issues or in-progress features?
