Does the Jira target work with Jira OnDemand?
The solution I'm trying to implement is to setup some automation where when a Zendesk ticket is closed, the linked Jira tickets are closed as well.
I was looking into Zendesk targets and saw the Jira option. When I try and test the target I get this response.
"Test is not supported for this target because: 'Ticket with specific external id needed'. Create the target and test with the triggers."
I haven't moved past this point as I wanted to ask others if this is a valid approach or if there are others options.
Thanks!

Les,
I feel like in JIRA you would need to set a JIRA Inbound mapping in JIRA.
Add-ons > Cloud connections > Mappings > YourMapping > Configure > JIRA Inbound
Where Status of Closed is mapped to Closed.
I think this what you were looking for.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
McCabe

I have the same question but for a different use case: Forwarding comments from Zendesk to JIRA.
When testing the target I get a similar error message.
After setting up testing the integration I can see that a message has been sent to the target but a comment is not created in JIRA. The new comment does appear in the Zendesk tab in JIRA but that is not what I want to achieve.

Hi Kasper,
I'm sorry to say that there is not currently a nice "out of the box" automated solution that I can offer to you today. We encourage users to use the manual "Notify" button in both Zendesk and JIRA to send comments back and forth. Please shoot us an email at support@zendesk.com if automating comment updates to JIRA is a critical need. We may be able to explore further options with you.
