API Feature Request - Jira API
CompletedWe programmatically create both Zendesk and Jira tickets.
But we cannot link an existing Jira issue to an existing Zendesk Issue.
There are other similar posts, asking for similar things. But I have tried to distill my request into what is not already achievable using either existing Zendesk or Jira APIs - after all there is no reason why Zendesk should need to re-invent access to Jira through Zendesk's API.
Personally, I only need one call: LinkZendeskTicketToJiraIssue( ZendeskTicketID, JiraIssueID ).
Conversely, it would be nice to also have: UnLinkZendeskTicketToJiraIssue( ZendeskTicketID, JiraIssueID ).
I see not much need to add anything else. However, since this request is very fundamental and already exists in the back end (in order for the Jira Intergration App to work), I strongly request that this is done sooner rather than later. Doing this small update would alleviate most of the problems surrounding Jira/Zendesk integration, with there being other ways to achieve most other things that you might reasonably expect people to want to do.

I also really need a public API for JIRA-ID also.
As it is now we have to make the link manually. And there is always a risc when you are depending on doing something manually.
We also only need one call: LinkZendeskTicketToJiraIssue( ZendeskTicketID, JiraIssueID ).
