I have some good news. We're finished building public APIs for the JIRA integration. The API documentation is here https://developer.zendesk.com/rest_api/docs/services/jira

I second this.  We used to have the information readily available and it would be great to have that support back.

This would be very valuable, but shouldn't take precedence over proper reporting of linked tickets & issues.

Jira's reporting functionality is lackluster, at best.

Zendesk could do so much more with their report tools, if we only could a good one->many link of Jira IssueKey -> Zendesk Tickets

Hi everyone, can you please explain the actual use case for having the JIRA issue key on the Zendesk ticket? I would like to understand how you're planning to use it.

I also want to ask you for input on a possible solution to this request. I can potentially leverage the Field Sync feature to place the JIRA issue key into a custom field on a linked Zendesk ticket. This solution would however have two limitations:

    1. It would work when 1 JIRA issue is linked to 1 ticket or when 1 JIRA issue is linked to multiple tickets, but NOT when multiple JIRA issues are linked to 1 ticket.

    2. Even if JIRA issue is unlinked from a ticket, the JIRA issue key will remain on the Zendesk ticket once it has been synced.

I would like to hear from you if these are acceptable compromises in your particular circumstances.

We are using Zendesk ticket for our customers and JIRA issue for our development team.

Work done by our team is tracked in JIRA. This tracked time has to be reported to our customers. We would like to make reports stating the time worked for each zendesk issue (they have no access to jira issues), so by aggregating all work logs for each issue linked to a Zendesk ticket.

We currently cannot do this via the API.

    Thank you.

In this particular case, we want to synchronize comments directly onto the Jira issues instead of the Zendesk tab in Jira. However, there is so many ways you could use this information.

Can we just have an array of jira_issue_ids if the Jira plugin is installed?

Hi @Yuri - Has there been any progress on the public APIs for the JIRA integration?

    Thanks in advance!

@Yuri, I echo @Guy 's request. We need this feature to list JIRA issue IDs in a Zendesk view for users with privileges lower than "Agent". The reason is that "Light Agent", for example, cannot use the JIRA integration app in Zendesk.

We need to be able to identify and leverage business rules in Zendesk based on JIRA escalations. I think the ability to leverage JIRA ticket numbers via API will get us there leveraging targets.
