How to format text in messages sent in triggers or automations?
AnsweredIn a Trigger - Perform these actions: Notifications: Email User or Email Group
I would like to format the text that is in the Email body:
https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203691016-Formatting-text-with-Markdown
This guide states:
Markdown is available in the following places:
- Ticket comments (from the agent interface)
- Macros
- Agent signatures
- Help Center community posts and comments
Seems like a forgotten place to be able to format text.

Hey Adam!
For the text that goes in an email trigger, you actually need to use HTML to format the text. I did some digging around and was surprised that this doesn't seem to be included in our documentation, so I'm going to contact our Docs team and see if we can remedy that. :)

Thanks, Jessie, been looking for that, too!!

No problem! Sorry it wasn't easy to find!

Hi Adam,
Sorry, what are you looking for a status on? I've contacted our Docs team to see about getting that info added, and it's currently being worked on. Was there something else you were looking for?

Jessie,
You mentioned that it was missing from the Doc's and the Doc's team is creating the info. I interpret this as it can be done.
As you mentioned it needed to be HTML. This is great, but talk to me like i'm a 6th grader. Tell me how please.

Hey Adam. :)
The docs team is simply going to add the fact that you need to use HTML to format trigger notification text, which I don't think is going to help you.
Luckily, there are loads of excellent tutorials available for free online. W3schools.com is my personal favorite, because it has lots of examples as well as places where you can write your own code and preview it to make sure it looks the way it should. I actually used it to prep and refresh my memory on coding when I applied here at Zendesk. :)
Let us know if you need any help!
