How do I delete a Curious Wind theme category or section

I finally figured this out for anyone else who has the same issue. Go to Articles-->arrange articles-->then click on the section or category you want to delete, then you get the option to delete it on the right. Still not intuitive at all. Zendesk should really think about fixing this!

    Hey Ioliff!

I'm glad you got it figured out! The breadcrumbs will appear in the article itself; if you weren't looking at the article that's probably why you didn't see them.

If you were in the article, then it's possible that any customizations you may have done removed the breadcrumbs placeholder from the code on that page.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

I agree, not intuitive. When you want to delete a section or category that has no content it only appears in the "Arrange Content" page. As pointed out above, in order to find and delete these sections or categories, you need to select "Arrange Articles" from the "Articles" drop down menu, which opens a page called "Arrange Content". Doesn't match up. Are we arranging articles or content? The language should be consistent.  In addition, if I wanted to delete sections or categories, it is not intuitive that anyone would work from the "Articles" menu.  The name of the menu, "Articles", is just not accurate as you have can also work with sections and categories.

    Hey Christopher,

Thanks for the feedback on that. I can definitely see where it could be confusing. I'll be sure to pass it along to the Product team!

I am using the Copenhagen theme whilst playing around in our sandbox and am unable to see where I can delete categories. I have follow the instructions in the thread above but don't see the option to delete.

Has something changed since your UI update?

    Hey Pete!

Sorry for the confusion. The solution shown above is for a very specific, slightly weird, old theme.

For Copenhagen, you'll want to go to Articles > Arrange Articles. You'll see a list of your Categories. Click on the one you want to delete (it'll highlight like a link), and then you'll see Delete category in the right-hand column.

Make sure that you move any articles out of that category before you delete it! You can do this by clicking the arrow next to each category, and then drag/dropping your Sections or Articles wherever you want them to live.

    Hi Jessie,

I'm afraid that the Delete category option doesn't show when I follow those instructions.

    Hey Pete,

The other way to do it is:

    1. Navigate to the category you want to delete.
    2. Click "Edit category" in the top toolbar.
    3. Click "Delete" in the bottom right sidebar of the edit category page.

    See: https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/218222877#topic_v5n_5l4_kk

Let us know if that works for you!

Jennifer is it worth taking this to a ticket? That doesn't work for me at the moment because we are not live with the knowledge base so I am unable to navigate to it other than in the back end management.

    Hey Pete,

You can still navigate everything in your HC, even if it is not live. Other people (end users) cannot see it, but you as an HC manager can see everything, as if it were live.

But, yes, let's take this to a ticket so we can get you taken care of!

    Stand by for a ticket!

    Fixed! It was my adblocker.

Thanks Jennifer and Terry for helping out so quickly.

Oh, that's good to know. I'll add a note about that to the article about deleting categories. Thanks for reporting back, Pete!
