    With the callback functionality available, voicemails are even more redundant! I'd love to be able to turn this off.

    We'd like to remove phone support, so having the option to leave a message explaining other methods to contact us while not allowing them to leave a voicemail is our desired solution.

     

    We did update our voicemail message to say it would be eventually be disabled, but people continue to leave a voicemail anyway. It seems terribly unhelpful to leave them with an extended period of silence. They might think they are leaving a voicemail and be upset that they do not receive any response, or they'll be frustrated for waiting so long if they do eventually get to the beep.

    Sadly, this feature does not exist with Zendesk. One way we've successfully gotten rid of voicemails here is to record the message for after hours, and leave about 30-40 seconds of silence after the message completes.

    No one's going to stay on the line after you say, "Call again tomorrow when we're open." and there's 40 seconds of silence after that. 

    Not the ideal fix, but it definitely works until they (maybe) build a solution.

    Would also like to see the ability to disable voicemail - this would help our business as we transition to outbound-only phone support.

    We would like to be able to disable voicemail and just ask customers to call us back during normal business hours. We are trying to eliminate the time it takes for agents to sit and respond to voicemails on a daily basis.

    Would love to accept voicemails during business hours when no agents are available and disable voicemails after hours.

    Please make a simple enable/disable voice mail button. 
    We don't want a ton of backlogged voice mails, this will only slow us down in the morning when our staff comes on to take more calls. I don't want to have to go through an entire weekend of missed calls/voicemails.

    +1 this idea and It would be nice to be able to set up "after hours" and "holiday" greetings aside from the regular greetings.

    Me too please. why have call back and voicemail? simple off button please. plus It would also be nice if I could set different voicemail greetings based on office hours and not just by phone number.

Zendesk Talk now has the ability to configure voicemail on or off/ inside or outside your business hours and you can customised your greetings to suit your configuration.  For more details here is the link to the announcement and the documentation.
