Alphanumeric Sender IDs for Zendesk Text

    Thank you for your feedback and welcome to the community!

    The primary reason that Zendesk Talk does not currently support Alphanumeric Sender IDs is because the product is designed for two-way communication between your Zendesk Agents and your customers.

    Alphanumeric Sender IDs for SMS means that SMS is only one-way (outbound) and can not be replied to by your customer (most phones will show an error when attempting to do so), restricting a lot of the functionality and benefit of the product. Additionally, Alphanumeric Sender IDs are not supported in quite a few countries. 

    For one-way SMS such as this, we would recommend using your own Twilio or other SMS provider account directly to send notifications to your customers.
