    Any ETA on the implementation of the $zopim and $zopim.livechat? And will this be a more seamless experience with the web widget then before?

    Hi Guys,

    was wondering we are in mid September now, I really need JS API for chats, our chat without default department will never work, we are looking to sign also to enhanced performance - to put widget on each page on our side ( atm is to heavy ) but not having integrated chat experience it have no sense.

    Can you please update us on date ( as far as I can see more ppl are asking for it )

    Hi Thomas, your account is now enabled for the integrated Chat EAP. FYI for others, I usually enable new signups weekly.

    Hi Tomasz, after tackling some other priorities, we are now full steam ahead on adding APIs to the EAP over the next few weeks. You can expect an update and documentation on this in October. There is a tip for a short-term way to implement departments here in case you wanted to get this out earlier for performance purposes. https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360004194247-Chat-EAP-Set-chat-department

    Hi Nick, ETA for APIs is October. In regards to your comment, can you elaborate on what you mean by a more seamless experience?

    Hi Daniel,

    Is there an alternative for the following? We just need a way to open the live chat programmatically. This is the only hold up for us switching to the new chat system.

    $zopim.livechat.window.show();

    Hi, what does a guy have to do to actually receive the go-ahead on the EAP? We could sure use it. I've opened up a ticket.

    thanks!

    @Charlie you can look at zE.activate: https://developer.zendesk.com/embeddables/docs/widget/api#ze.activate

    @John we have put a short term pause to onboarding new accounts on the EAP until we finish some new features and bug fixes. You should be onboarded when we begin to assume adding accounts again.

    Well the problem is that it was something we could do with Zopim, but now that's shutdown, so we're in limbo. Anything you could do to move things along would be appreciated!

    The issue we have is that the Zendesk Chat Widget (Front-End Code) bundle has the access token that connects VERIFI (our software) to Zendesk Chat.

    This was the reason we were looking for the RESTful API for authentication medium to connect Zendesk Chat and VERIFI.

    Question:

    Do you think it is possible for anyone who has access to VERIFI and has the technical expertise to extract the access token for VERIFI, mimic and create their own version of the chat that would allow them to engage our Help desk Agents?

    I am not aware of VERIFI, can you share the JS APIs you were previously using?

    If you are concerned that people are putting your widget on a different domain, you can use the Widget Security feature called domain whitelisting. You can learn more about the feature here: https://chat.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/219848967-Configuring-widget-security-settings

    Hi there -

    Currently, we're using the below script to show the chat form. But, if I enable the EAP, the link doesn't work and it is showing the chat bubble on the bottom-right. We do not want to show that bubble and want to use our link.

    javascript:$zopim.livechat.window.show()

    Please help!

    Hi Aswin,

    You will need to use the Web Widget equivalent API called activate to show the window.

    Here is the link to the docs: https://developer.zendesk.com/embeddables/docs/widget/api#ze.activate

    Hi all, just an update on the Chat JavaScript APIs. We are now on the home stretch and expect to make these available for use with the EAP next week (ETA Nov 7th). Stay tuned for the announcement for more details.

    Hi,

    I request access to this EAP recently but since we have moved to a Phase 3 account we no longer require this access. Please can you remove my application as we no longer need it?

    Many thanks.

    When will I be granted the access to your new widget?
