Images Open in New Tab Instead of Downloading

    This is not expected behavior of your Zendesk interface, but it seems it's most commonly caused by browser settings, not Zendesk.

    Could you try replicating this issue without any active extensions on your browser, or within an incognito window? If you are using a browser like Chrome, could you try a different one such as Firefox or Opera?

    Hi Dan,

    The issue happens in both Chrome and Safari. I also tried in Chrome's incognito mode and it still happened.

    Hi,

     

    We are seeing the same on an account-wide basis, not related to a specific user or computer/browser. Also having a hard time figuring out what is causing it.

    Is there a resolution or does it needs to be investigated through a ticket with Zendesk as well?

    This is happening for us too,

    • Chrome Version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)
    • Have tested with ?noapps as well - still opening the 'download' as an image in the parent tab.
    • Have disabled Zendesk Quicktab on Chrome

    As far as we can tell, this was resolved after Paul initially reported it back in April, but it appears that some browser updates have brought the issue back.
