Full Country List custom field on Support Portal

    Hi Kelsey! Welcome to the Community!

    In the Help Center interface, the ticket fields don't have any smart search functionality. The same goes for conditional fields built using the conditional fields app. In both cases, you'll have to add each country to the form manually. There are some other possibilities for formatting the field, though.

    Firstly, if you want to avoid dealing with custom code, you can create a nested field or use a conditional field (bearing mind that the Conditional Fields App is a paid add-on for Professional and included on Enterprise). You can break your menu up in to regions (ie: Americas, Europe, etc), and list the countries in each region. It'll provide a much short list for your customers to scroll through. You can add up to six levels to a nested drop down, so you can break the country list out pretty granularly if you want.

    Another option would be to try and add the functionality with custom JavaScript. To the best of my knowledge no one else has done this, and our drop down menus are hard to customize because of how they're built. However, it might be worth a shot. Our Support team isn't able to do that kind of customization for you, but we have some coding gurus here in the Community who might be able to provide some guidance.

    Beyond that, we have some form integrations in our App Marketplace already that might get you where you want to go, although I'm not familiar enough with them to be able to say for sure. If none of those serve, you might be able to find some kind of plugin you can add to your Help Center code that will add such a drop down to your request form. I'm not aware of such a thing myself, but it seems likely that there's something out there!

    Hey zendesklers

    That is pretty sad. Actually I am also looking for a country list in different languages. And the problem is that when I translate them I can't sort them anymore because English is the main language.

    Zendesk is a tool that manages a lot of things but they are unable to offer a text field/webform/ticket field with a smart search functionalty as almost every website offers this possibility. 

    I am sorry to say that but I think we are not the only users who wish this solution or a better solution that the others you mentioned.
