Hi there - this sounds great. Do you have a link to an active help center that is utilizing this feature? It would be helpful to see an example of how it can be used.

    Thanks.

    Hi Brian -

No examples just yet; this EAP is active just as of today. But we'll try to share some examples when they become available!

Hey -- By Answer Bot won't work on these pages, does that mean that Answer Bot can't offer articles in sub-sections as answers to customers?

Thanks! Very excited about this feature.

    Hi Madeleine!

Answer Bot actually surfaces articles in sub-sections, but we don't yet officially support the feature throughout the EAP because there might be errors we haven't fixed yet.

For example, the breadcrumbs are not reflecting the whole tree - only the parent section and the category. This is something we'll implement during the EAP.

But do feel free to try it out and let us know if you run into any issues.

Thanks, Bogdan! I'm glad to hear it. I'll see how it goes once we have this implemented.

    Hi Bogdan,

I was excited to take a look at the sample page you posted. I have a couple of feedback items that might be relevant to how the Copenhagen template is updated to support flexible hierarchies:

    1. When the visitor to the demo page clicks on a Category, only one section is visible, and that section has a "preview list" of articles. Only by clicking on the section title can you discover a "subsection" visible within the section. At our organization, we envision the Sections appearing in a responsive, grid-based format similar to how Categories are displayed on a home page today - without a "preview list" of articles within each section that might cause the user confusion. Initially, our thinking is just to use the "subsections" to add one (or at most two) layers to the tree.
    2. If a "Parent Section" contains both a list of sections, and some articles, we envision those articles appearing in a list format, below the grid-based layout of child sections mentioned in #1 above

I also think it would be helpful to have a new Category and Section template available to admins who want to display sub-sections as large icon-style links, similar to the home page. This would augment the existing Category and Section templates. This can be achieved through CSS, but building it into the default template would make it easier for admins to get up and running.

    Hey Zac!

    thanks for the great feedback!

In the demo page it just happened the category only had one section, you would normally see all sections with a preview of the article list. I'll add some more sub-sections to showcase it.

The grid idea is interesting, I'll try to play around with the theme to see if that can be achieved with the tools we have today.

Edit: Check out the Guide category in the demo Help Center, I changed the visualisation to be a block grid.

    Have an awesome new year!

    Hi Bogdan,

I'm seeing an issue where I get an error when I try to rename sections. We haven't actually moved anything into nested sections yet, so it's currently just Category > Section, and in the sections, I get a "Something went wrong" error.

Let me know if this is currently a limitation of the EAP and I'll shoot you an email to be taken out temporarily.

    Thanks!

    Hey!

this is an issue that's been reported by other users as well that have host-mapped domains. We're working on a fix but if you're blocked please let me know and I'll take you out of the EAP.

    Thanks for you patience!

    Hi Bogdan,

I just saw your edit and took a look at the Guide section. That's very close to how we'd envision it being used, in principle. We probably would apply different styling than the styling used on the Home page, but I'm glad it was achievable pretty easily.

I'm hoping that, as a part of this feature, you plan to release new templates for the Category and Section pages in Copenhagen that include Flexible Hierarchy elements. Part of my feedback comes from a desire to have those templates be as usable as possible out of the box if they come into being!

    Hi Bogdan,

Can you share how you modified a section page to display in the block grid?

    Thanks!

    Hi Richard,

I've shared some more examples here.

The block design for section page: https://gist.github.com/bogdan-andrei-sturzoiu/35f54f6d942aab27a38730ffb0a823ce

Let me know if you can access the link.

    Sorry Bogdan,

I actually meant the category page to display the sections as the block grid.

(but the above code is also helpful)

    Regards,

    Richard

Am now using both - category and section block grids.

    Much appreciated.

    ---

English translation added by Community Team:

I saw that we can batch the articles from one section to another, but I did not find an option to select the articles, because in some cases they should not be all migrated. Have we planned this item? It is very important for the teams, since we have the possibility of subsection, migration will be necessary. Being made one by one, it becomes unfeasible.

    Hi Camila,

thanks for the feedback! We might consider adding a "Move multiple articles to" in Arrange articles to allow for your scenario.

    Hi,

Is there a way to allow an article to appear in more than one section/sub-section?  If yes, How do you configure it?

    Thanks,

    Cris.-

    Hi,

currently there is not a native feature for it, but you might be able to build something using javascript. We are working on a separate project where you can have reusable blocks of content be surfaced in different locations (but still as separate articles). This might help a bit with the use case.
