Guide Source Code editor adding <p> tags around certain HTML elements
I'm trying to implement a collapsible FAQ system for my company as we are getting longer and longer FAQ articles. I've done a lot of research, and the simplest way seems to be using a <button> element. However, every time I use this in the Source Code editor in an article, the <p> tag gets added around the whole button element, rendering it completely useless.
I've already implemented the CSS and Javascript, and there seems to be no problem there, the whole thing seems tied to the Source Code editor in the actual articles.
I believe my company is on the Support Enterprise plan, but this really shouldn't be affecting anyone. Is there any good way around this, or can we get this fixed?

Hey Britta,
As far as I know, Zendesk implements a version of TinyMCE as their text/HTML article editor. Perhaps it has been updated recently and the version used introduced a bug? This would probably be best to report to the Zendesk Support team and they can have a bug filed, because it definitely doesn't seem like expected behaviour.
Let us know what they say, if you do it :)

Hi Britta, did you find a solution to this problem in the end? I'm doing the same thing and bar raising a support ticket about the <p></p> bug I'm at a loss on how to work around the editor automatically adding these tags.
Thanks

Hi Simon,
I see you already created a ticket with our Customer Advocacy team :)
We will continue working with you in the ticket and determine whether or not this is expected behavior.
Appreciate you bringing this to our attention!
