Dashboard Sharing with Others
CompletedWill there be a way that we will be able to share dashboards with just email addresses even if they aren't an agent? This is available in insights and helps us send reports to engineers that don't really need licenses in our support ticketing system. Primarily for reports on number of incidents and problem tickets there are so that they can prioritize bug fixes better.
It would be even better if we could embed the dashboards onto a site and have the data publicly viewable.

@Vincentdollet, Are any of the options available right now?
-
@Stassa Miller
Currently i created a group to send the email to, then i have explore auto send to that address at the time i need.
Then i have forwarding setup in that mail account so it bounces it to where i need it to go
I cant remember exactly but some kind if customer = x and title = report then forward type logic in the email account
Vincent was kind enough to mention some of the changes that are coming to this feature and we are looking really good on this feature going forward.
I wont go into the details as its not my place to say.

Thank you Jeremy for sharing your workaround!
Update on our end - we're currently working on enabling you to share live dashboards via public or password-protected links. Once done, anyone with the link (& password when password-protected) will be able to access the live dashboards (caveat: we're respecting IP restrictions that may be configured on your Zendesk instance). I can't officially commit to an exact availability timeline. However based on our current velocity & priorities, I do hope we can launch the EAP in the course of Q3 (indicative timeline).
We'll then focus on the ability for you to schedule dashboard exports with individuals (with Support agents or email addresses). Timeline still TBC.
Thank you for your continued patience

Would be very useful indeed. +1 for this future request.

@Vincent
Are we any closer to:
Sharing dashboards with a single end-user or
groups of end-users that are added in Zendesk Support? vs. Groups only containing staff? The users who have been permitted to view the customized or pre-built
the dashboard will receive an email invitation to see the dashboard in Guide secured by domain name? -
Waiting eagerly for the ability to share live dashboards with people i.e. management who don't have Zendesk users accounts. (Live dashboards so they can play around with filters and date ranges...)
Thanks!
-
Hi Stassa and Ayal, we're currently working on a feature that will enable you to share interactive dashboards with stakeholders who do not have a Zendesk seat. You'll be able to share with them a URL, which they'll be able to browse directly. Note that if you've configured IP restrictions, we'll be enforcing said restrictions.
Stassa - can you please clarify your use cases?
-
Hi Vincent,
We do have internal users who do and do not have a Zendesk end-user account, who need to be provided the URL to access dashboards. We also have client executives that do and do not have Zendesk end-user accounts.
-
Hi Stassa, thanks for the add'l context. With the feature we're working on, you'll be able to share online interactive links with your internal users & client executives.
Being able to embed dashboards in Guide is under discussion, however we do not have a timeline yet.
-
+ 1 to all this, basically — super important for us to give access to sales and account managers who want to be able to report on some basic metrics for their customers but aren't giving support through Zendesk. Looking forward to an EAP!
-
It would also be quite helpful to our Organization.
-
Very eager to see this new feature as well!
-
Would like to have this feature ASAP
-
+1 to access for client executives, stakeholders, and internal staff without a ZD seat.
-
Full support for the ability to display a dashboard via a URL, we have a video wall with several large screens, and use these to display metrics to help identify issues quickly and to keep staff informed.
The url option is ideal, as we run a browser in kiosk mode on each screen, this is done to automate the video wall completely and reduce the need to interact with each display.
Desperate to get this feature as using a agent license for each screen is ludicrous. Ideally a "dashboard" license would make much more sense.
-
Dear all, we're making good progress with the development of this feature, which we are planning to launch in EAP within the next couple of months. Once released, you'll be able to create a public/password protected link, and share it with anyone (assuming they connect from the IPs that are allowed to connect to your Zendesk instance).
-
On our side, we need our dashboards to rotate on a standalone screen/laptop so everybody can see their current numbers + management when walking by. Thanks!
-
Hi Nadine, thanks for sharing your use case. We're considering to introduce an automatic rotation between each tabs in a dashboard. Can you please confirm this will address your needs?
-
Hi Vincent, it may, but currently, we are running on 3-4 different dashboards, not tabs, so we can see dashboards from other softwares as well. Rotation between tabs would still be great.
-
I definitely would love to see this added but would also add that the root cause of this issue is that we are not able to effectively manage end users with anything other than organizations. This is not ideal when you work in an environment with logical segmentation of users but all exist inside a single identity provider.
If we could just have the ability to organize end users more effectively (groups), I think features like this would be an easy add.
Along the line of this feature, if you had more end user manageability we could also easily manage what forms certain users could access instead of having to hack it with JavaScript in the help center.
Please push this feature forward but also consider more end user manageability as well

@Richard
I would still like to see Sub-Levels to Orgs so I can separate humans and servers from the same Org.
But hey, if we can get dashboard sharing its a start
-
+1
100% interested in seeing this feature soon.
-
@... - a couple of months have gone by now. Is there a new ETA on this feature?
-
I 45th this request. Need to share a dashboard with a client that is an end-user, but not an agent.
This seems like such a basic reporting functionality, and there is clearly a universal need.
Export to Excel is not ideal as it requires extensive re-work in Excel to create a pivot table and such.
When can we expect this?
-
Hi Leif,
Thanks for reaching out.
As mentioned by Chris, we have launched an EAP that will enable you to create public or password-protected live links to any of your dashboards, and share them with anyone (or put them up on live monitors). You can read more information about that EAP here.
In H1 2020, we will also be introducing the possibility to schedule dashboard snapshots with anyone.
Kind regards
Vincent

I completely agree with this need/feature request. We have certain clients who need information as well as members of our engineering team who are requesting specific reporting that don't warrant a support seat. Even being able to download/export and then email is tedious- if certain dashboards could be scheduled to be emailed and viewable, and the actual dashboards be viewable in explore that would be hugely helpful. (To our CTO, VPs, Client partners, etc). They literally only need reporting.
-
Hello Vincent, do you have more of a specific timescale on being able to schedule snap-shots and what that will look like?
That could solve our issue with moving to Explore.
Thanks,
Tilly
-
Hi Tilly Martin, thanks for reaching out. We are planning to enable you to schedule dashboards to Support groups, individual Support agents and/or end-users. We are working towards an EAP in Q2.
-
Dear @...
Is this new feature will permit us to choose a data filter when scheduling a dashboard delivery ?
The idea is to send to our customers (dashboard filtered on organization) or agent (dashboard filtered on agent) personnalised datas without duplicate *1000 times dashboards. Thanks
Sophie
