Time based and date based - Automatic message
AnsweredI would like to notify our customers when we are busy with scheduled maintenance on our websites. There is maintenance that takes place on a monthly base (times and dates may vary according to the maintenance).
I would like to have this notification done live, so as soon as the customer is on our site the notification message is sent It would be great if we could have this date and time based so that we don’t have to worry about constantly turning it on and off when needed.

Hi Lance,
You can use the trigger conditions Hour of Day/Day of week: https://chat.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/212015968-Zendesk-Chat-triggers-conditions-and-actions-reference
You would need to turn the trigger on and off based on the maintenance window.
Alternatively, you can add a maintenance tag to the visitor when the website is in maintenance mode using the Javascript API and then create a trigger to fire based on the visitor having that tag.
Triggers only fire when the chat account is online so it may not be the best solution for maintenance notices. Zendesk itself uses our Outbound product to notify people about maintenance windows for Zendesk products by creating a campaign. This would present itself to visitors regardless if agents are online.
You can learn more about Outbound here: https://www.outbound.io/
Thanks,
Ramin
