    Hi Jason and Phil,

    Thanks for posting your feedback regarding us working with Zapier to unblock various integrations with other services. 

    To make the integration possible, we need to beef up our APIs to support real time chat information vs. completed chat information with the REST API. We are gradually making those investments in the platform but a Zapier integration is not something that will be coming out in the immediate future (next 6 months).

    If/when that changes, the product team will let you know via this thread and will potentially offer early access to the integration.

    Hi Ramin,

    You've got JSON, and REST from what I can see.

    While realtime calls are ideal for Zapier/IFTTT, 15 minute calls are the norm with most integrated apps. 

    Unless you're saying you're running with SOAP? ;]

    Hey there, we are missing a Zapier integration as well. I mean there is almost no product that does not integrate with Zapier so I think that is essential and should be implemented as soon as possible in order to go a big step in the Zendesk Chat Development!

    We have nothing to announce at the moment. We are doing long term platform improvements that would enable stronger integrations, including Zapier integrations. When we have something worth sharing, we will let you know.

    Hi guys,

    is there a timeline for this? We desperately need to be able to add new leads to MailChimp I can see other players out there are doing it via Zapier - is this on your Roadmap?

    Hi Dan,

    No updates to give at the moment, we are still working on the platform changes that would eventually support something like a Zapier integration. 

    We did recently release the apps framework in Chat and if you need the ability to create Mailchimp leads now, you could look at building a custom app that uses the Mailchimp APIs to create the lead.

    The problem

    • We need to get chat messages into Salesforce

    Why it is a problem:

    • Chat is an important source of data that must be contained within a person's account on any CRM.

    How we are solving the problem currently:

    • Currently we are having to connect our offline and online chats to Salesforce as Cases using an email parser and Zapier.
    • This is clunky (Zapier's email parser works for online messages, whilst we have to use Parseur for offline messages)
    • Multiple facepalms!!🤦🤦🤦

    How we would ideally solve the problem:

    • Zendesk upgrades whatever they need to upgrade in order to integrate with Zapier.
    • We then connect Zendesk chat to Salesforce 😃😃😃
    • Upon completion of chat - send chat to Salesforce as a case
    • Upon submission of Offline Chat Message - send chat to Salesforce as a Case 
    • Alternative solution: switch to LiveChat / Olark that do integrate with Zapier - but I would like to remain with Zendesk if possible.

    How big is the problem:

    • There are so many parts involved in getting all your data into a CRM and managing workflows effectively.
    • Complicated workflows like the one we have had to create for Zendesk are almost a bridge too far.
    • Lots of users of Zendesk chat must experience this issue SURELY!!

    Hoping you can push it along your roadmap!!

    Thanks for the detailed post, appreciate the explanation on what you are currently doing and the business need.

    Unfortunately, don't have any news to share with you :(

    We are still working on the new suite of APIs but the first phase won't solve your specific use case. We also looked at potentially having a similar Salesforce app that is available in the Support product in the Chat panel. The internal exploration happened but there is nothing on the roadmap at the moment.

    Only workaround recommendation right now would be to use a private app in Chat that uses this API: https://developer.zendesk.com/apps/docs/chat-api/chat_sidebar#chat.messages

    And then sends the messages to Salesforce as a case. You can get the visitor info, like name and email here: https://developer.zendesk.com/apps/docs/chat-api/chat_sidebar#visitor-object
