    Hey Ian,

    Thanks for the feedback. I agree, adding rich text formatting or markdown support across the chat service would be a great improvement.

    We are exploring what would be required to do this but it isnt in our immediate roadmap at the moment. If we realise it is something we can do well, we will update this thread to let you know. As this change is fairly substantial, it would take quite some time to get it developed for all components of the chat service (dashboard, widget, mobile apps)

    Hi Zendesk Team,

    - Now 9 months on -

    Are we any nearer seeing improvements to Zendesk Chat in terms of better rich text formatting?

    As expressed before it really is the one area I find with the Zendesk process that is outdated and below par to competitor chat offerings. The ability to format the text for the benefit of delivering messages and shortcuts would be invaluable and likely a better resource saver to teams like ours than Answer Bot.
