    Hi Robin,

It sounds like a custom user field (a drop-down or multi-select) would do the trick! You can then select the product version on each user's profile:

From this moment on, every ticket received from that requester will include the tag corresponding to the product version selected in their profile:

This will also be shown in the user details in the ticket interface:

As you can see, it's also good to standardize the tags for each drop-down option so that they're easily readable (e.g. version_1_0_0 is clear, while version_100 isn't since it can mean v1.0.0 / v10.0 / v100)

There's a downside, since this information isn't available as a column in Views. The workaround would be creating a matching ticket field, and a set of triggers that would update product versions between ticket » user and user » ticket.

    Hope this helps!

That only works at the user level.  If John Smith doesn't contact me next time and it's Bob Jones, I won't see the version number on Bob. It would have to be at the company level.

I see. An alternative (without having to install any app) would then be to create the same drop-down as an organization custom field (you can then map email address domains to Organizations).

If anyone with example.com email address submits a ticket, the Organization would also be present in the ticket details tab, and then you can check the product version.
