Can you restrict access to a user profile to only signed in users?
Hi!
Quick question. We are exploring opening our private community up to be publicly accessible. The current site requires a user to sign in via our product application in order to authenticate them and create the Zendesk profile. Thinking about future access for public visitors, can we restrict their ability to click on and view someone's profile if they are not signed in?
I understand there are public vs. private profiles. I like the concept of public profiles for members to view info about each other, and for using the @Mention function. However, I don't want unauthenticated users to view all that info. Is that possible at all? If so, how would you go about that?
Thanks in advance for the assistance, and happy Halloween!

Hey Mike -
This functionality isn't available out of the box. I have sent a message out to some of our customization experts to see if this is something you could accomplish with some fancy custom code.
In the meantime, would you be willing to share what community you use Gather for? We're trying to get a thread going here where people share their communities: share your Gather-powered community

Hi Nicole S.
Curious if you've head back about any of this?

Hey Mike,
It looks like you've yet to receive a response related to your question. Looking at your use case, this would most likely require some custom code on your end to have this functionality in your Help Center.
While we at Zendesk are rather limited on what we can assist with on our end, we do have some great documentation that may help point you toward the desired solution you're looking for.
If you don't have the necessary resources available to assist with customizing your Help Center, we do have a Professional Services team that can assist at an additional cost. This is something you'll want to discuss with your account manager so if you're interested, I'm happy to get you in touch if needed.
I'm also going to get this post added to our monthly Community Roundup for November to help provide visibility to other users who may be able to point you in the right direction.
Let us know if you have any other questions in the meantime!
