We customize our contact form heavily and it's not possible to preview the contact form without having all of our users taking part in our test phase. So new form fields show up and we are not yet ready with setting up.
We already created a process to minimize that but it still remains.
Now the question is, why can't we preview the changes simply? The code preview allows no agents or managers for the contact form. So we can create form fields only visible to agents until everything is setup up, we also can create conditional field rules only for agents and we can use a copy of the live theme to implement and test changes. However we can not just test our changes in the preview with the new theme and maybe a new contact form. Even when we set a contact form to only being visible to agents. It's somewhat strange to have this option but when in preview agents can't watch it.
It should be possible to do all the changes in a new theme, new contact form and conditional agent rules and test it properly. Then switching the new theme to live, also switching the new contact form to being visible to users and to disable the old form. Then copying over the conditional rules to the endusers.
We can not test everything at the moment. We can prepare but still it's somewhat unprofessional in the way we have to implement changes.
A change from zendesk here would be appreciated.
