How Do I Reassign Users in Sell?

    Hi Rene,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    I'm glad you wrote to us! Please know that for cases where there is a transition of employees we offer the possibility to 'deactivate' users instead of 'deleting' them or changing their details, in order to preserve all their data in your Zendesk Sell account, including their emails. Also please know that deactivated users do not count towards the seats (licenses) in your account so you will not be paying anything for such a deactivated user. Once a user is deactivated, another user is free to take up his place and use the seat (license) the previous user was on.

    And before you do that I believe it would be best to go back and edit the name and the login email of this user again to the ones that were actual before, for reference and safekeeping. :)

    Once the previous user is deactivated you can go ahead and add a new user to your account. If you need help with that here's a handy article in our knowledge base:

    Sorry for the confusion. Yes you can still reassign the ownership even if the user is deactivated.

    You can reassign Lead/Contact/Deal to another user:

    Go to the Lead card. Select "Edit." In the edit window, scroll to "Owner" and use the dropdown to change owners.

    You can also batch reassign Leads by going to Smart Lists, selecting all, and selecting "Reassign Owner."

    If this doesn't work, we may have to dig into your permissions settings. Please let me know if you're successful!
