I'm curious about other people's experiences using Swiftype as their guide search tool.
I'm currently attempting to improve our Swiftype search results to make it more clear to our users what the content of each article is. Swiftype does have the ability to crawl the content from description meta tags and pull it into their search results, but only if Swiftype search-friendly custom attributes are added to that meta tag.
ZenDesk automatically pulls the first 140 characters of an article's contents into the article's description meta tag, but as far as I can tell there is no way to add custom attributes to that meta tag. (It's auto-generated by ZenDesk and not customizable at all).
I'm now looking at potentially adding custom attributes to the element in the body that ZenDesk uses to create the description meta tag so the Swiftype engine will crawl that and add it as content that can be added to the search results box (as described on this Swiftype help page: https://swiftype.com/documentation/site-search/crawler-configuration/meta-tags#embedded).
I'm curious if anyone else has attempted anything like this before or has a simpler solution.
Also, if anyone at ZenDesk reads this, can you please make the article description meta tags something we can add custom attributes to?
