Customize Guide only With Two levels
AnsweredHi,
I am migrating my company Q&A and help Center to Zendesk Guide.
Now my site is organized on two levels, (ex. section, articles), but Guide is on three levels (Categ. Section,Articles)
What is the best way to migrate without rewriting all the tree ?
Any suggestion ?
thanks a lot for help

Hi Andrea! You are working well on your Help Center, and have some good questions :)
You could simply get Guide Enterprise, it allows for up to six levels deep.
So you don't have to alter your current tree. -
Hi Kay,
thanks for your answer, I'm trying to help my customer service satisfying their requests, but I'm just a newbie in ZD :)
My need is to REMOVE one level, not to add
I Need Guide Enterprise for less levels ? Is not enough Professional to achieve my goal ?
thanks in andvance

Sorry for misunderstanding that. It's clear to me now that you only want two levels.
I would advise adjusting the template a little bit. By either fetching all the articles
Your content would look something like this.
Category
FAQ
Sections
Orders
Returns
Delivery
OtherArticles
All articlesEdit: the default theme actually allows just 2 layers, if there is just 1 category.

Hi Kay,
thanks for answer, but sadly i'm not so good in JS to get what you are suggesting

Hello, Andrea Villa!
When you create your Help Center from Support, Guide brings you two sections, "Announcements" and "FAQ", under category "General", but as there is only one category, the first level displayed on home page is section's. So, my suggestion is:
Add your sections under the same single category and unpublish the articles from the two mentioned sections so you'll have your "company Q&A and help Center" like they used to be!
I hope it fits to you!
Best wishes,

Thanks Renato,
so, if I empty default sections (archive all messages) and I start a New one ie "customer FAQ"
then, If fill new section with my articles, they will be displayed in HP of Guide
id it so easy to do ? Hope I am in the right direction
Thanks again
Cheers

Hello, Andrea!
Have a try! Creating your "customer FAQ" and other custom sections under standard "General" category and adding your articles under the new sections. Unpublishing standard sections so you'll have the new sections only on Guide home page.
Let me know if you achieve your goals.

Hi Renato,
your tip is perfect !
Just one category and sections are displayed directly on HP
thanks
Have a nice day
