How do i solve 9K tickets in bulk?
AnsweredHi!
- I have a Support Essential plan
I've been using Zendesk a bit wrong the past years, I have ansvered the support tickets directly from my mail, which today has given me just under 10.000 unsolved tickets, that all actually are solved. And now I'm extending my support team, so I want to use Zendesk the correct way - but first we need to clean up the current tickets, and then do it the right way from now.
I have found a way to bulk update tickets, but that can only be done with 30 tickets at the time (though I also saw an article of updating 100 tickets at the time).
But is there any other way (maybe through a trigger) to bulk update all 10.000 tickets to solved? Or is the only solution to update 30/100 at the time or make a fresh account and start from the beginning?
Thanks
Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,
You could update your tickets in batches of up to 100 at a time, as you mention, using a view of the tickets you wish to solve. If you have a trigger set up to notify the requester of ticket solves, you wish to disable that temporarily.
However, the above is quite a time-consuming task, if you're familiar with APIs, you may wish to go that way instead or recruit a Zendesk partner to help you out.
I hope this helps.

Hi Jacob
Excellent - I was not aware that I could use API to edit Zendesk tickets, I will look into that.
Thanks for you help!
