Using the user object in Zendesk to show a button to only the 'agent' or 'manager'

Hi all,

I am looking into a use case or hiding the post actions to just the agents. Has anyone else had this requirement, and if so, how have you done it?

Having looked at the documentation, from my understanding, it is only possible with Javascript or by doing an API call. I have seen that the user object does have a 'user.agent' property - how does this work, and could this be used to get control this button?

Hey,

You can use this script code to hide post-action only to the agent:

 if (HelpCenter.user.role== "agent"){
     $(".post-actions.actions").hide();
  }else if (HelpCenter.user.role=="end_user" && "manager" && "anonymous" ){
    $(".post-actions.actions").show(); 
  }
