Published articles in Guide changing to Draft status unexpectedly
AnsweredI'm curious if anyone has insight into something I'm experiencing.
I'm working on building out a Help Center; it's not yet activated.
I'm having a problem where articles that I have previously published switch back to Draft status. I can re-publish them again; I'm not getting any error messages. But I can't figure out why it is happening, and why to some articles and not others.
The most common pattern I can find is that it often happens if I edit a published article. When I click Save, it often switches it back to Work in Progress status.
Anyone have insight?
I have not experienced this in my past use of Guide, but I'm working with a new company now and haven't been using Zendesk for about four months. Possibly something has changed or it's a Workflow feature I'm not familiar with. Quite possibly it's something obvious that I'm overlooking...
I'm an administrator with full publishing rights on the account, so I don't believe that's a factor.

Hi Liz!
This is something that took a while for me to get used to - when you publish an article, it goes to a Published status. If you make changes to the article, the version you published is still published but the article updates to a Work in Progress because you are now making changes to it. Once you are done with those changes, you can publish it and the new version is then publicly available.
Hope that makes sense - let me know if you have any more questions!
Thanks,
