Since the beta launch of Zendesk Sell sales reporting in Explore, the biggest feedback we have received from customers is the need for custom reporting. With the latest release for our beta product, this is no longer a limitation. Customers will now be able to get the specific reporting they want by using custom fields and we are looking to you to gain feedback on this latest release.

Starting today, users will no longer be limited to the canned reporting in Sell. They can add custom fields to their Sell leads, contacts, or deals to collect information that’s not collected by default. When the data is synchronized with Explore it can be used in reports.

We’d love to get feedback on your experience, specifically:

  • What are your use cases?
  • What limitations do you hit while using custom fields for Sell reporting in Explore?
  • What problems could you solve if you didn’t experience that limitation?
  • What do you wish custom fields would do differently for you? Why?

We welcome feedback from everyone who is now using custom fields for Sell reporting in Explore. This will help us further improve and prioritize our product roadmap. To provide feedback please comment to this community thread. If you would like to speak directly with a Product Manager on this topic, please indicate that in your comment and someone from our team will be in touch with you.

Thank you.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I wanted to let you know that Sell reporting in Explore is now generally available with pre-built dashboards for several of the datasets you mentioned including products and activities. These are available on our new Sell plans, to learn more visit our pricing page.

Hi,

In my organization's case, it's not the custom fields so much we need available as just more basic existing metrics in the dataset.  For example, we want to have the Activity Report in Sell replicated in Explore, so that it can be easily shared with our management.  However, there are no metrics available in Sell for emails sent, calls made, notes taken, etc.

Thanks.

Thanks Mark! I've already responded in your other thread.

Hi,

It would be great to be able to do analyses based on the Product catalog.

Currently, it is only possible to do analyses in the reporting section for won deals. However, I would like to also include the products for prognoses.
Secondly, it would be great to be able to split the total (expected) revenue by product.

Thank you!

Hi Team,

It would be good if we could add standard fields to reports. For example, our management team want to add to their dashboard a report showing deals value within a group of pipeline stages (not 1 stage or all stages).

Thank you

Kate

And now that we all started to work on it, Sell dataset in Explore are sunsetted.
That's insane !

Just close the damn tool and stop pretending you keep this product in portfolio. I've never seen such a downgrade of features.

Will the custom fields and reporting now be available directly in Sell? There are significant disadvantages being presented by removing the Sell datasets from Explore. For instance, the Sell Lead Status Report gives me whether the lead was won, unqualified, or working. I can not get more granular access to the Unqualified Reasons. In explore I can build a report to give me some greater context into the leads we are receiving and why we are unqualifying them, but now I lose this feature. This change doesn't make sense.
