Zendesk is excited to announce that we have launched an emoji skin tone picker in the Zendesk Agent Workspace to help represent our diverse and widespread user base. Our purpose in introducing skin tones in emojis is to allow racial diversity and expression.
For some context around this feature launch, we had a Team Hackathon Day where we explored a variety of ways to improve the agent experience. These covered both creative technical and UX explorations, including expanding inclusivity in the product and driving agent delight. This small, but important, feature is a result of our team’s creative minds during the hackathon. We hope you find using this feature makes for more personal interactions.
To use the picker
- In a ticket comment, click the emoji icon.
- To select a skin tone, click the skin tone picker (yellow hand) at the bottom toolbar. The different skin tones you can pick are displayed.
- Pick your skin tone and express yourself!

Your skin tone choices aren't saved across different browsers. You must pick a skin-tone again if you log into a new browser or clear your browser cookies/cache.
