Standardize Size of Tabs, And Give Option for Truncated or Full
Answered
Posted Feb 11, 2019
Currently, all tabs seem to get a random size of header, but that is always guaranteed to cut off part of the tab name. I'd like to be able to either select that all tab names should display fully, or have them truncated to a standard width, like Chrome tabs do. I don't understand why my tab that has a 4 character name is truncated. I made my tabs some random colors so you can see what I mean about the random sizing:

It would be great if there was a way to drag the tab size or set a standard size.

I'm having the same problem, was there ever a solution to this?

Hey Alex,
It looks like publishing and previewing the dashboard corrected the tab sizes. Additionally, the font choice will also affect the size of these tabs. Can you confirm whether or not that works for you?
Let me know!

I have experienced the same issue- I've changed font sizes, published the dashboard, and it seems random. It would be so helpful if the tab width could be customized in addition to font sizes. Sometimes I see a few letters only, sometimes I see more characters.

+1 for more options for dashboard tab titles and padding around text fields.
I used the title "Overview" for one of my tabs using font size 16 and bold and I can only see the first 6 letters. If I unbold it, I can see all 8 letters. This is pretty restrictive and makes the tab title option marginally useful, at best.
Regarding padding around text fields, there is a lot of unnecessary white space. When trying to fit different report sizes and shapes and contextual information in a dashboard, not allowing us to specify the amount of whitespace limits layout options.

Has this issue been resolved? How do you change the tab title width at the top of each dashboard tab in Explore?

Hello, Punit!
As of now, this feature to fully customize the tabs on Explore dashboards is still in the works. We will release notes on this once this is available and fully operational.
We appreciate your patience!
Cheers!

It is kind of crazy that you can't see the font size changes in edit mode but you have to publish them and view outside of edit mode.
