Please add an auto-save feature to Zendesk Guide

Posted Apr 05, 2021

Since Zendesk Guide does not have auto-save, saving must be done very frequently to avoid lost work due to network or system interruptions. These occur with the message "Translation wasn't saved. Please try again." Only refreshing the page works in this situation, and that results in lost work. Please add auto-save by default, as it is in other web applications like Google Docs and Office 365.

Thanks,

That's a good one, Sean. I've gotten so used to getting around it that I've forgotten how annoying it is. It seems like the system thinks working on an article for a long time is inactivity.

When I see that message, I dismiss it, go to text editing mode, copy all the code, and then refresh the page. Then I go back into text mode, paste the code, and save. Sometimes images have to be attached again.

I know - crazy. It's better than losing your work, though.

Same here. This workaround do work, but is no good solution. As you said, i always have to make sure, that the images and videos are shown correctly.

Hi All,

Thank you for your feedback. Autosaving articles is something that we are thinking about but at this time we are focusing on other priorities (e.g. article multiplacement) so it's hard for me to speak about any timeline.

Hi Subin Binu, thank you for asking. Unfortunately, I don't have any updates in this area at this time.
