    Hi @...
Thank you very much for your feedback. We are not actively working on any article export features for Guide at the moment but we'd like to improve this area in the future, therefore, I've logged your case and I hope to come back to it in some time.

This is a functionality I am looking for as well.

Is it just me or does this seem like a no-brainer feature to have an export to PDF option on each article for the end-user? Does anyone know if other help center software offers this type of feature? It is a very common end-user request and one that isn't very scalable to support manually. Right now I have to:

    1. Create an article in google docs
    2. Export to PDF
    3. Create an article in Zendesk
    4. Attach PDF from step 2 to Zendesk Article
    5. Repeat for any edits

Maintaining the article in two places when there has to be a pretty straightforward software solution so that we only have to do step 3 is quite frustrating.

This seems to be a common request.

We also would like an option to export our guide to PDF for customers that require hard copy or are not on the internet.

Thank you sorin. Yes, that is the solution right now. But a printed webpage often doesn't look like a formatted PDF with the same information. I would say this is very much about how it makes us look when we ask them to use features of other software (browser) to meet their needs and about how the resulting PDF looks. Right now it looks like a printed webpage, not something that was formatted nicely for the PDF format itself.

+1 - we've been hoping this would be on the roadmap by now, as the third-party app that seemed like a good candidate was not approved internally for installation. Would be great to have this functionality built into Zendesk.

Guys I think this is a really fundamental feature. I believe there are more clients requesting this than just those who wrote comments here. Just a little coding job and you can help us so much, Zendesk.

Is there an ETA to this feature?

We work with an audience that doesn't need to use their software on a daily basis.
We always create short tutorials that we make accessible in ZenDesk.
Many of these users like to have a printed onepager in hand to get started.
A printed web page is absolutely not an option for us. It looks very unprofessional.
So currently we have more or less double duty to make a PDF of every ZenDesk article.
We work in a country where Dutch, French and English are common spoken languages among our users. So this is a huge workload for us.

Now Jan 2023. Would love to see article export to .pdf, or copy articles between brand Help Centers implemented. This is a common theme for users.

Can anyone at Zendesk provide an update if this is something that we will see soon?

Upvoting this and following as this really is a needed functionality instead of having to create a PDF copy for every article. Fully agree with Brandon Lee and everyone else here!

As a customer, I believe that it would be beneficial for Zendesk to add functionality allowing customers to export Guide articles in PDF format. This feature would greatly improve the user experience by providing customers with an easy way to save and share important information from their interactions with Zendesk. Additionally, this feature will help product managers and engineers better understand how users are interacting with their products and services since they can track which articles were exported as PDFs.

From a technical standpoint, adding this functionality is relatively simple compared to other features that have been implemented in the past. It requires minimal coding resources while still offering significant value for both customers and support teams alike. Furthermore, it could easily be integrated into existing systems without disrupting current processes or requiring major changes or updates from engineering teams or product managers - making implementation quick and cost-effective overall.

Adding this functionality has numerous benefits for both users of your service as well as your own internal team members who need access to customer data quickly and efficiently; therefore I strongly urge you consider implementing such a feature in order increase engagement levels among existing clients while also attracting new ones due its ease of use when compared against traditional methods of exporting article content manually via copy/paste operations etc.. Thank you once again considering this proposal!

    Hi Sanobar -

I don't believe this is on our roadmap at this time. We'll update this thread if that changes.

sorin - Did that plugin make it possible for your end-users to export articles to PDF or just your agents? I am looking for a solution that will give the end-user a PDF of the article they are looking at.

If Zendesk is not interested in offering this functionality (this and others have been open for quite a while), is there a quality third-party option that you can recommend?

Angie Schrader The Help Center Manager app can help you export articles to PDF, as well as Word and HTML.
Check it out and see if it does what you need.

    Hey Angie Schrader,

If you have a need to produce offline manuals for customers, you may want to look at tools like Paligo or MadCap Flare which are technical documentation tools that specialize in producing offline documentation and have integrations with Zendesk Guide.

Otherwise, you can always create a special print stylesheet in your theme that would enable customers to save pages as a PDF easily. Just another idea.

I'm looking this option as well as we are thinking to have manuals in Help Center but the requirement is to create pdf with different pages (articles) -- collection of pages to be pdf. I would prefer this to be done by Zendesk and not to pay more of some third party solution.

Brandon Lee the plugin only allows team members to export articles to PDF

Brandon Lee any modern browser should have a "Save as PDF" option when trying to print a web page (press Ctrl+P). Could this be a way for your customers to export an article to PDF?

    Andy Wauthier and Brandon Lee

at the moment the Help Center Manager app can help with step 1 and 2 - you can get the PDF export straight away, without copying pasting into google docs.

But I think there might be a solution to streamline this, or even automate the whole process. You can get in touch via the contact form on my website to discuss more.

Man this feature would be helpful. We'd no longer have to maintain documents that must be sent to people outside the organization (such as candidates). Today the browser print feature does not output a PDF polished enough for us to use.

Diane Risoldi, this improvement is not on our most immediate roadmap at the moment.

Like others, I have multiple Brands that need many of the same Articles, either translated, or just copied. Hand copying over 200 articles(not that many, but still) is quite the task. Please put this on the road map.
