Easy way to know who created/altered a ticket view?

Answered

Hi. Every now and then I need to figure out who created or altered specific ticket views. So far, I've been doing it by exporting the log and then searching for the corresponding event. Is there an easier way? Thank you.

Hi Carlos,

Currently, on "Manage View", it will show you when was the last time it was updated. But, if you are looking beyond that, there's no native list to view the revision history made on it anywhere in the Support UI.

What you can do is to check the audit logs on your account. It seems it is much easier to check if you're only looking at who created specific ticket views, by going to your audit logs and then filtering the result by type. Use the filter "Created" under Type.

However, if you want to display revision history or what type of changes the user has made, i'm afraid you will need to export the logs and search for the corresponding events.

If you have some time, I recommend that you start a post about this in our Product Feedback topic. Our Product team actively monitor our feedback threads, and conversations with high user engagement ultimately gets flagged by the team for roadmap planning.

Hi Gabriel.

The "edit view" shows (at least to me, not sure if Zendesk's licensing or version changes that somehow) when the view was last updated but not by whom and not who created it in the first place. And going through the logs is exactly what I do but there should be an easier way, I think.

Thank you.

Hello Carlos Santos

I just wanted to share with you something that might be helpful using our Audits API.

This API call will help you to find out when a view was created and by whom :

(just replace YOURDOMAIN with... your domain :) and xxxxx with the view ID)

Hope that helps :)
