Zendesk Custom Support App Icon

Hello,

Thanks for the help I have received so far in my journey in creating a Zendesk app.

I have installed my app for testing in Zendesk, but the small icon on the left of the screen is showing as the default 'box' icon:

Is this correct, or should it be showing as my custom icon? I have replaced logo.png and logo-small.png (these show correctly elsewhere). I have also tried replacing the logo.svm. But it still seems to show as the 'box' -- is this expected behaviour?

Can anyone advise?

Hi SGL! Since you mentioned it's on the left side of the screen, that would mean that this is a nav bar app. Nav bar apps require a .svg file and you can read more about that in this article!

Thanks, I saved the .svg logo file as "icon_nav_bar.svg" in my assets folder, and this worked.

Hey SGL, can you elaborate on what your setup looks like in order to display the nav bar icon correctly? I'm having your same issue and can't seem to fix it. Thanks!

Hi Daniel, 

 

Here are a few things to check out and might be what's causing your issue:

 

  • Be sure the required file name is being used for the app's location. For the nav bar, that would be icon_nav_bar.svg
  • To style the icon used to open the app, be sure to include and follow the code as shown here.
