How do I show the DATE in tickets when a comment is made instead of the DAY?
Posted Mar 15, 2023
In Zendesk, each comment on a ticket a time the comment was made on the right side of each comment. However, if the comment was made in the past 7 days, Zendesk only shows the DAY the comment was made and not the DATE. For example, a comment made two weeks ago will show something like "Mar 02 17:49". But a comment made 6 days ago will show as "Thursday 08:47". I do not like this latter version. How do I get all comments to show like this: "Mar 02 17:49"?

Hey Sam Graves,
Unfortunately, there is no way to display the date in full on a ticket like you're looking for in the instance when it's less than 7 days old. This is currently by design and there's no setting to allow you to change it.
This is however a great feature request though as I can see how it would add value to your workflows. :)

This limitation creates more difficulty for the support team I work on.
Our users frequently write in stating things about content they uploaded today or yesterday. When I look at the ticket, it only provides the day of the week the ticket was submitted. This insufficient information means I need to put conscious thought into figuring out what day it is today and I then have to figure out what the date of today is. Only once I have this information can I look for information on the user's account because content in our system is not labeled by the day of the week but instead uses exact dates. This required translation makes our tough jobs even more difficult. It's needless work. It would greatly improve our agents' lives to have an option that changes the days of the week to exact dates.

hey Charles M
This may not be an ideal answer, but have you tried looking at the events on the ticket for the exact date? It should show the full date for you.
Viewing all events for ticket updates

+1 We have to sometimes copy an entire message to another ticket (there is no ‘print comment’) option. And when you drag and copy the whole message, it copies the date but it is ‘TODAY’ or ‘YESTERDAY’ which is not helpful. As such they have to hover over the date to get the exact date and time then replace that text in their new message.
Is it possible to just have it always state the date? Even in Outlook when you get an email 5 minutes ago, it tells you the exact time it came in. This should be a setting if anything. Or a combination so it says 'Yesterday [DATE] [time]"

I agree, just let us see the date. There is no reason to see the weekdays for the last week. Sometimes, we have to check the calendar to find the date.
