Zendesk Storage Plans

Is zendesk storage a new thing that we need to pay for or has it been there always? We recently were made aware that we have exhausted our storage - and we need to pay to get extra storage. I can't find any help articles relevant to the current Admin center, and all the articles seems to been published since aug 2023. Is anyone else aware of these?

The Zendesk Storage is something that has always been there for many years. The screenshot below is from the pricing page - https://www.zendesk.com/pricing/#compare-plans
Data storage relates to - Storage consumed by pre-configured objects in Zendesk.
File storage relates to - Storage of files attached to Zendesk objects, like email attachments in a ticket.
In my experience, most Zendesk accounts never hit a storage limit if they are doing simple ticketing; however, if you've been using your Zendesk for many years or have recently started using custom objects in Zendesk, you may indeed be reaching your storage limits.
If you're on the Growth plan or above, you can purchase additional storage for your account.
