Error with zcli validate and package

Posted Nov 30, 2023

I'm currently getting a SSL error when I try to validate or package a new app update:

›   Error: Error: write EPROTO 803A5FE701000000:error:0A000410:SSL
 ›   routines:ssl3_read_bytes:ssl/tls alert handshake
 ›   failure:ssl/record/rec_layer_s3.c:861:SSL alert number 40

I deleted and reinstalled zcli, but it still doesn't work
But it works if I use the same account and use a different laptop
I think it's my MacBook problem, is there a solution?

Hey there,

Can you share the OS you are using as well as your Node version?

I'm using macOS Ventura 13.1 and node version is v21.2.0

Thanks for the extra info! I haven’t been able to repro this on my end end. So I can troubleshoot in more depth, can you provide a few extra details, specifically: are you running any versions of Linux and, what web browser is configured as your default and is it up to date?

Also, does this error appear when you run the zcli apps:create or zcli apps:server commands?

I don't run Linux when I'm using zcli, and my current default browser is chrome v.120.0.6099.62(latest version).

This error only appear when I run apps:validate, apps:package, apps:update, apps:create.

Only apps:new or apps:server command is working normally.

And when I run apps:package command, same error appears, but the weird thing is the zip file was made in the tmp folder. After I try to upload the created zip file directly from the admin center, it uploaded normally and work normally.

Can you try logging out of ZCLI and logging in again, being sure to double check the subdomain you are using is correct and accurate. Since apps:create is working normally, I suspect this shouldn't be the cause, but I want to be 100% sure.

I did what you told me to do, but there was an same error...

And I guess it was my mistake that zcli apps:create worked normally

Hi,

I experienced the same error when using zcli apps:package. Is there any solution as of now?

Hey Jingwei,

Did you test the troubleshooting steps earlier in this thread to see if they had any effect on the issue you're seeing? If not, can you give that a go and let me know. If you have and are still running in to errors, can you let me know the OS and node version you're running?

Thanks!

Tipene

Hi Jingwei,
I couldn't solve it, so I just formatted my MacBook, and it worked out!

Hi is there any better way to fix this other than formatting the mac?
