Users able to flagging Community Posts or Comments

Answered

Posted Apr 25, 2024

Hi,
I have looked everywhere for the ability to enable users to be able to flag a post or a comment as something that needs attention from an admin.

I believe it would be a good place to put it inside the actions group that already exists. I have tried making modifications myself, but I haven't been able to do so.
We are currently using the default Copenhagen theme.

I know there is a feature to make posts require approval from admin before they post, however we do not want this functionality.
We just want users to be able to alert the admin if something is not going as it should be.
Any advice, hints, tricks would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Jason, thanks for your question!

There is not a way to enable ALL users in your community to flag posts for moderation.

If you have the Gather Professional plan, you do have the ability to delegate those permissions to some users. You can create a user segment, and then optionally award that segment any combination of the following capabilities:

  • Mark a post as “answered”
  • Pin a post to the top of a topic
  • Feature a post
  • Move a post to a different topic
  • Hide a post for moderation
  • Approve pending content

You can also create multiple segments, and give different segments different subsets of these capabilities.

The article Creating community moderator groups details how to set this up. Let me know if you have further questions!

Is there any intent to add this feature?
