Team hierarchy configuration
Posted Aug 22, 2024
Please give a quick overview of your product feature request or feedback and note who in your org is affected by this issue [ex. agents, admins, customers, etc.]. (2-3 sentences)
As an admin, I would like to systematically define the hierarchy management of teams within different partners to ensure that team leads, managers, could review, edit, and approve different segments of their agent's requests or schedules. Without this, it's unclear how we can effectively allow different roles provide coverage for their teams.
What problem do you see this solving? (1-2 sentences)
An agent needs to take a break or leave their shift early but their manager is out on lunch or unexpectedly sick, so another manager at the location can step in and make the edit but would not be able to edit teams within the same location they do not provide coverage to.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool? What happened? How often does this problem occur and how does this impact your business? (3-4 sentences)
In the implementation phase of workforce management, but as our partners have defined different requirements for agent schedule and time off requests, we are concerned that it will not be able to accommodate their needs.
Are you currently using a workaround to solve this problem? (If yes, please explain) (1-2 sentences)
Yes, we are going to strategize on teams that are only used for permissions reasons since an agent can be on multiple teams. However, the maintenance of this is not ideal.
What would be your ideal solution to this problem? How would it work or function? (1-2 sentences)
Ideally, teams can be configured to represent the structure of the organization. Multiple team managers, teams that are managers, managers of higher teams can be set to manage teams below theirs, or all members of higher teams can be set to manage teams below theirs are possible configurations that may be beneficial to achieve the diverse array of organizational management needed for multiple partners, lines of business, and locations within one larger organization.
