FYI, we have dropped Zendesk because of this and moved to an alternative,

Need to mute Chat alerts while on a Talk call

Our agents use both Chat and Talk. If they are on a Talk call but a Chat comes in, they get the Chat alert sound interrupting their call. Please allow audio alerts to be muted when a call is active.
