ACTIVITY OVERVIEW

Latest activity by Chris

Chris created a post,

Post Feedback - Reporting and analytics (Explore)

We have reports set up to display created ticket counts for different parameters as a column graph. For example tickets created for each month for the last 12 months. But if a defined param returns 0 tickets then the column is completely excluded. EG: Jan, Feb, April.

For our end users, it is confusing seeing a report that is supposed to have 4 columns only showing 3. When with other reports that do have data it looks out of place, makes it harder to read, and it just looks broken. Showing 0 is better than NULL. This is worse with single column reports where instead you get an error message indicating that there is no data available, which again looks like something is broken.

I'm aware of a method to “+0” to the report calculation, but this does not work for columns. I'd expect there would be other areas outside of columns or bars that this could be useful.

CommentCreating dashboards

How do you rename a shared link/URL?

Previously you could change the URL of a dashboard, to remove the random string of text to become x.zendesk.com/explore/dashboard/{yourtexthere}, but now I can't find that option. Having a link of x.zendesk.com/explore/studio#/dashboards/{averyveryveryveryverylongstringoftextthatisactuallythislength} is ridiculous.

Community comment Discussion - Tips and best practices from the community

For what it's worth I was playing with something similar for a multi-select dropdown, specifically wanting the “.last” item from multiple nested items. When only selecting one item it worked out, but when selecting multiple it would only display the last nested section of the last item overall instead of the last nest section from each selected item.
