Hi Zendesk Community,

 

I'm writing to suggest a new feature for Zendesk Chat: banner notifications.

 

The Problem: Currently, our agents often juggle multiple tools, which can sometimes lead to delays in responding to chat inquiries. It would be incredibly helpful to have a visual indicator, like a banner notification, to alert agents when a new chat has started, especially when they're focused on other tasks.

 

The Solution: A banner notification could be a simple, yet effective way to improve response times. It could appear on the agent's screen, even when they're not actively in the chat window, drawing their attention to the waiting customer.

 

Potential Benefits:

  • Faster Response Times: By quickly alerting agents to incoming chats, we can reduce wait times for customers.
  • Improved Customer Satisfaction: Prompt responses lead to happier customers and stronger customer relationships.
  • Increased Agent Efficiency: Banner notifications can help agents prioritize tasks and allocate their time more effectively.

I believe this feature would be a valuable addition to Zendesk Chat, enhancing the overall user experience for both agents and customers. I'm eager to hear your thoughts and feedback on this suggestion.
