    Hi There,

    I've read all the comments and understand the point of view from Zendesk. However I also feel the need to upvote this request. In The Netherlands there has been a massive increase in the use of whatsapp for support. A majority of the webshop and bigger online platforms have some sort of whatsapp solution to give a fast response to the smaller support requests. 

    In our own case, we are a digital agency / full service internet agency that have a service & support department that works with Zendesk for ticket registration and handling. It would be great for us to provide our customer with a solution to ask simple questions to our support employees through whatsapp, with the registration of their questions in Zendesk.

    I can imagine that people will take this in consideration in their selection process for support software. We're really happy with Zendesk ourselves, but this would be the icing on the cake :)

    A much needed ability of this integration is allowing to create business rules based on message status (sent, delivered, read), especially when it comes to closing bump-bump-solve ticket flows.

    E.g. We send an urgent message via Whatsapp to someone who currently is offline. After 1 hour pending and unread, I want to trigger an SMS for this ticket.

    Just recieved an email from Ongair that they not support Whatsapp anymore due to the regulations of Whatsapp inc.

    Read the statement below;

    We regret to announce that we will no longer be able to continue offering WhatsApp customer care service on Ongair.

    This follows a Cease and Desist notice from WhatsApp Inc. directing us to stop offering the service via our platform. We have no choice but to comply with this notice and have decided to slowly phase out our current WhatsApp offering.

    Currently reaching out through our network of friends and partners to see if we can continue in the future with official support from WhatsApp but at the moment we have to comply with their Request.

    Our WeChat and Telegram to Zendesk integrations are up and running, already you can do interesting things like sending automated satisfaction surveys right in the chat complete with a custom keyboard.

    Hello,

    I'm also looking for a customer support tool that will offer integration with whatsapp. Most of my clients are used to whatsapp chat and I would like to keep the same experience for them. Has anyone here tried or heard of a great tool integration?

    I signed up for Ongair trial only to see that its not available anymore. have configured the telegram but don't really see the zendesk integration.

    Also tried meteordesk with limited success.

    What is Zendesk's vision on Whatsapp support? Our competition is offering Whatsapp support already, with Zendesk we can't. I don't want to add extra software to reach our goal, I'd love to see this integrated in Zendesk.

    Hi Rene and everyone else,

    As you know WhatsApp doesn't publish an official API yet. All solutions you can currently find in the market are we believe in violation of WhatsApp Terms Of Service and using them, unfortunately puts you in that category as well.

    As a result, Zendesk and its partner network has decided that we would not be providing WhatsApp as a channel for our products until WhatsApp opens a fully supported API for us to integrate with.

    Hi Maxime, sorry to disagree with you.

    If you read carefully WhatsApp EULA, there are not one but may, many gaps concerning the subject.

    I know that you guys are concerned about that specially now a days when Zendesk not located in Europe.

    We're really keen to get WhatsApp integrated but we also agree that we should wait for a fully supported API. It would not be good for us to begin a customer support process on an unsupported connection and for it to be pulled without warning. 

    That said I don't want to wait much longer!!

    Have you begun discussions with WhatsApp since they announced their business service strategy in January?

    Hi fellows, why not use telegram?

    In this 2nd semester Google will release their messaging platform, this can be the pivot point for WhatsApp.

    Meanwhile Telegram seams a good option.

    Hi,

     

    It's not a matter of choosing a specific technology.

    It just as simple that our clients are using Whatsapp and we want to listen the communication channel our clients are using!

    It seems that Whatsapp is pretty common in Latina America as my clients in that region are eager to use it.  There is even corporate deployment of Whatsapp in some organisation.

    I'm wondering if Zendesk is not interested in developing that integration because it would cut off the grass under the feet of Zopim? :-)

    Meanwhile, looking for ComTodos.
