It's great that we can now add custom fields to our orgs and users. We plan on displaying lots of customer data from our CRM and Commerce systems in Zendesk. The key to linking these systems is inserting our internal customer ID into the Zendesk org. However, I've noticed that there is no way to prevent Agents from being able to edit the custom field and overwriting the the customer ID.
When creating custom fields, it would be awesome if we could check a box to make it a read-only field. That way we could reliably insert data via the API, without worrying about Agents accidentally changing the value.
