    Hi Mary,

    Yes, there is a limit. You can configure a maximum of five rules.

    I just heard from Ryan that the team is planning to increase the max number of rules based on feedback. 

    Do you have an idea of how many rules you need?

    And everyone else, please let us know what number you might need as well.

    Well, we have many products, and many teams.  I would say 20.  Maybe unlimited?  I was hoping they would add an expiry field on each article and we could set as we create it.  Not all articles in a category or section need to be reviewed as they provide static information.  Others can be reviewed at the discretion of the author while others need frequent review.  It's hard to allow for all of this with 5 rules.

    I don't think we'll get unlimited (nice try :), but the team will try to settle on a good number based on customer needs. Hopefully we'll hear from some other folks too.

    I would minimum go for 100.

     

    If we really want to use that feature in future, we need check some by Author, some by Category, or specific tag we set.

     

    5 is much too less.

    Hey All,

    Just letting you know that we've increased the limit to 20 rules.

    Just to add some context to the conversation, from a performance and reliability perspective, we need to be able to limit the number of objects that can be created in an account. Because of the fact that a rule will contain a potentially large set of articles and then email a potentially large set of users, it's important that we can feel confident about doing that quickly and without disruption to any other services. That's why we typically will start small and increase to a higher number as we get more feedback and get more confident about the performance characteristics of the feature.
