    Hi there Brian,

    Can you explain why you need the chat data right after the chat has ended vs. polling the REST API every 15/30/45 min and record the new chats in your internal database?

    There is no way to get the chat ID from the widget or widget APIs and we would not recommend using the widget callback because sometimes there is a delay in the chat ending and it being available via the REST API/History tab (in most cases its available instantly).

    You could potentially look at monitoring the Real Time metric stats and query the REST API every time the assigned chats metric goes down. You can get more info here on the Real Time APIs: https://developer.zendesk.com/rest_api/docs/chat/apis#content

    Hi Ramin,

    Thanks for the response. The need to download the chat data right after a chat ends was a business requirement.

    However, per your advice I will propose that we keep the current method for now, but also download chats at a regular interval in order to pickup the ones we missed.

    Yeah, most businesses who want to save Chat information via the REST API generally do it over a polling time interval. If you run into issues doing it that way, do let us know and we can look into it for you.
