Starting today, October 1, 2019, you can now use @mentions in the Zendesk Community!
How @mentions work
When typing a post, simply use the "@" symbol and then start typing the user name of the person you wish to mention. As you begin to type, a list of Zendesk Community members will populate, and you can select the user you want to mention. For example:
What happens when I @mention someone?
When a user has been @mentioned, they will receive an email notification about the thread, alerting them that they have been mentioned, including the body of the post or comment and a link to view it in the community.
Their name will also become a link to their user profile in the community:
Who can be @mentioned?
Anyone who has created a profile and posted or commented in the community or knowledge base can be @mentioned and will show up in the box that appears when typing.
What are @mentions for?
@mentions allow you to bring another user into the conversation. If there's someone in particular you're trying to respond to, or someone you know could help with a conversation who isn't already a part of it, @mentions are a great way to reach out directly.
