Prevent certain Articles from showing in Instant Search?

To add to this, if I hit Enter, I don't see the article listed in the actual search results. Only in the instant search results list.

    Hi Kyle,

    Thank you for your question.

If you want certain articles only shown to your agents or end-users you can easily restrict the articles. (If you haven't done that part yet)

Restricting that specific article can be done by setting the 'visible to' drop-down to 'agents and managers'.

I hope that answered your question.

I appreciate the suggestion but in my example above, I explained that the 2nd result has visibility restrictions set to Agents and Managers. The first one is Everyone.

The issue is just in the suggested list when searching. Once I hit enter and am presented with the full results, the "hidden" articles are not there. Only in this suggested/preview box.

Anyone have an idea? This could cause issues as if you click on an article that is offered (but you don't have access to it), you get a 404 error. Not good.

    Hi Kyle -

This shouldn't be happening; it's either a bug or possibly an issue that could have been introduced by any customization work done on your theme. Do you have any custom code that could be impacting this?

Thanks for getting back to me Nicole. I may have jumped to a conclusion on this. My issue was while I was testing my new design. So it was only in the test mode. I was set to "Annonymous" but I feel that probably isn't the same thing as actually not being logged in kind of thing. I can't truly test this until I go live so I'll have to do a test after hours and see if the issue actually happens while being live. I'll update this thread with my findings.

That can definitely make a difference. The test environments are great, but there are always a few things that are tricky to test without being in a live environment. Let us know what you find!

False alarm. I tested last night and everything works as desired while live. It makes sense that the test environment isn't 100% the same as if it were live. But that's good. 1 thing checked off my list.
