Suppress the "Leave A Message" button with the web widget

    To be clear: I initialize the widget and then call

        zE(function() { zE.hide(); });

    and that correctly suppresses the "Help" button from floating up. However, that "Leave a Message" button shows up after a while anyway.

    I can get rid of the button by setting up an interval timer to remove any ".zopim" elements from the page, but that seems ridiculous.

    Hey there,

    Have you tried turning off the Zopim/Chat offline form?  I believe that's what's appearing as "Leave a message."

    How exactly does one do that?  My code currently does `zE(function() { zE.hide(); });`. I've also got the "suppress: true" set for the "helpCenter" stanza in the zESettings.

    Without doing "zE.hide()", what I see is a button that floats up in the bottom right of the screen reading either "Help" or "Chat", depending on whether an agent is online.

     Honestly I would have imagined that that's exactly what `zE.hide()` would do.

    Hey m5! I'm checking with some of our Mods to see if I can get an answer for you.

    Was this resolved? I am looking for the same. I am able not able to hide/disable the "Leave us a message" button in my Zendesk widget

    I just add a line of css.

    .zopim { display: none; }

    The same thing worked for us too: .zopim{display: none;}

    Unfortunately, if we decide to re-enable chat in the future, we will probably forget about adding this CSS and wonder why it's not showing up. Is this something you guys can fix?

    Hello,

    That is a great point! We often get tickets from customers who either forgot they customized their chat code after a while when implementing new changes (as you mentioned) or have turn over of staff and the new managers don't know about the custom code. Luckily our support team works with this issue a lot and is often able to pinpoint that the issue is in the code to help people get back up and running! Hopefully that is reassuring that you'll always have backup!

    In the meantime if having an in-product feature that allows you to turn on or off the "leave a message" button would be useful, I encourage you to get that idea and feedback on the radar of our product team by posting in our product feedback page: Feedback on Chat.

    I hope that helps!
